Description
Fynbos Drops was born from a love of our indigenous plant life, when the artist lived near Cape Point for 7 years from 2010. This botanical art range is the creation of sculptress Daya Heller who has a background in fine art and sculpture installation, whose work covers themes of the cycles of life , which carried through in the symbolism of the water drop shape and seasonal nature.
Plants are sustainably gathered by hand from private farms and wild places in the western cape. Now based in the Karoo , each is lovingly handmade , unique and seasonal , celebrating the biodiversity and magic microcosm of indigenous fynbos . The original shapes are sculpted by the artist, they are cast in moulds at night in our remote studio and go through an intensive sanding and polishing process , perfecting the clarity and magnification of each specimen , bringing nature to your home.
